Yoga Bio
Darcy began taking yoga classes in 1995 in the Iyengar tradition and has since developed great respect for many yogic styles and traditions (Anusara, Asthanga, Integral, and Classic Hatha). She gratefully received the gift of yoga from Anirudh Shastri (200 Hour Level) and currently Rolf Gates (500 Hour Level). She has also been influenced by Sarah Faircloth. Her prenatal yoga training and instruction has been with Sue Elkind, Anna Verwaal, Pat Mukti Statsky, and Deborah Saliby. Likewise, Madhuri Flynn, Amy Haysman, and Cheryl Crawford have provided training in teaching children's yoga. Darcy has been certified to teach seniors yoga by Frank and Serpil Iszak. Darcy loves teaching family yoga and yoga to children, teens, and adults of varying abilities and yoga experience, including beautiful pregnant women (In 2004, Darcy became a mom and with the help of yoga, meditation, the Hypnobirthing philosophy, and loving labor support, she was able to give birth without pain medications). In addition to teaching yoga classes and private instruction, Darcy finds joy teaching yoga teacher trainees how best to teach yoga to children and adolescents. When she is not teaching yoga, you may find Darcy taking a yoga workshop, volunteering at her child's school, or playing games, hiking, or traveling with her family.
