The first time I watched the hit Disney movie Frozen, I was immediately inspired to use the movie’s many motivational messages of love, light and self-acceptance in a Grounded Yoga Unit. This unit is intended for students Pre-Grounded through teen, with themes and asana sequences that can be considered as challenging, intriguing and relevant for this range of Grounded students as well as adaptable to meet the needs of individual classes. For teachers and students who have not seen the movie, I provide a basic description of the scene that served as a catalyst for each flow. This unit consists of eleven lesson plans, organized chronologically with the movie. It is intended to be done over 11 weeks, 12 weeks for the Pre-Grounded Level (with two class periods spent on the final project). Individual classes of other levels may likewise want to add an additional day to the final project.
