Product Description

This is a downloadable product.

This game teaches children to be self-aware. Playing the game reinforces the understanding that feelings are fluid, that what we think impacts how we feel and moving the body helps move our emotions. Before playing, at least for the first time, discuss the meaning of each affirmation. Ask children to remember a time when they felt that way.

I Am – two simple words with so much power. How do you usually follow the words, “I am?” The language you use to describe yourself is incredibly influential on your reality. You might have “I am” statements that you make out loud, as well as ones you say only to yourself. Your subconscious mind does not differentiate between reality and the chatter in your head; it believes whatever it hears. The words “I am” are powerful in so many ways. Make sure you use them with care and love. Yoga teaches us that energy follows thoughts. Whatever you think carries an energy that actually attracts that “like” energy. In this way, we are powerful to manifest what we want to be in this life.

This is a downloadable product.  The game board is best to print on 11 x 17 card stock paper.  Printing at a Staples store is one option here.

I played this yesterday with my class and two kids were brand new. It was one of the most profound experiences I’ve had with children. When someone landed on a star, we all chanted the affirmation “sa ta na ma” style. All eyes closed until the spinner thought of a time when they felt that particular quality and opened their eyes. A brand new boy landed on “I am still” So we chanted, I Am That Still. After a few moments he opened his eyes and shared “I felt still when my mom and dad came home after visiting my sick grandpa and told me he died.” He expanded on his sensations and it could not have been a more perfect description of still body, mind and soul. Another child, upon landing on “I Am Complete” shared that she felt complete when her family rescued a dog but only after the dog had been checked by a vet, given shots, bathed, given a bed, food and toys of his own. She explained that getting the dog was just the beginning and only after making sure all of its needs were met did she feel complete. This product is so much more than a game. Did you notice the poses are representative of the chakra system and the star affirmations match the pose next to it? I printed mine on the “medium poster” choice at staples and had it mounted as well. I poked a hole in the center and punched in a spinner. You can also use stones and dice. Enjoy!
